RICHMOND, Va. (January 21, 2025) – William & Mary sophomore Aiden Bond and UNCW junior Gil Shaw received CAA swimming weekly distinctions, while UNCW sophomore Etan Ferguson and Towson junior Shannon Parrau were honored with CAA diving weekly accolades.
 
CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Aiden Bond, So., William & Mary (McLean, Va.)

Bond achieved two first-place individual results and secured first in two relays, contributing to William & Mary’s 147-115 triumph against Davidson. The sophomore established a pool record with a victorious time of 43.94 in the 100 free, making it the 4th-fastest this season in the CAA. He also claimed the 50 free with a time of 19.93, which ties for 4th-fastest in the conference. Additionally, Bond participated in the Tribe’s leading teams for both the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.

CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week

Gil Shaw, Jr., UNCW (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.)

Shaw achieved two first-place finishes in UNCW’s competition against nationally ranked Georgia last weekend. The junior recorded a winning performance of 1:02.09 in the 100 breast, ranking as the 5th-fastest this season in the CAA, and won the 200 breast with a time of 2:14.47, standing as the 4th-fastest in the conference. Furthermore, she finished third in the 200 IM (2:07.11) and was part of a second-place team in the 200 medley relay.

CAA Men’s Diver of the Week

Etan Ferguson, So., UNCW (Greensboro, N.C.)

Ferguson delivered commendable performances on both diving boards during UNCW’s meet at SEC opponent Georgia. The sophomore achieved a fifth-place finish on the 1-meter board, scoring 285.90, and secured third place in the 3-meter event with a score of 285.0.

CAA Women’s Diver of the Week

Shannon Parrau, Jr., Towson (Germantown, Md.)

Parrau excelled on both boards in Towson’s team success against Drexel last Saturday. The junior recorded a winning score of 306.75 in the 3-meter event and took first place on the 1-meter board with a score of 288.90. Parrau also claimed victory in both diving contests during Towson’s competition with Howard.
