Unveiling the Showdown: No. 12 Kansas Takes on TCU Athletics!

FORT WORTH – TCU (10-7, 3-3 Big 12) will welcome No. 12 Kansas (13-4, 4-2 Big 12) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for a game that will be broadcast on ESPN2.
 
NOTES
–    The Horned Frogs will don purple jerseys and encourage all supporters to wear purple. 
–    Jamie Dixon is just two victories away from 500 as a head coach. His 170 triumphs at TCU are the second-most in history.
–    Under Dixon’s leadership in Schollmaier Arena, TCU has an overall record of 111-39 and 41-33 in Big 12 games.
–    This season, TCU has a 9-1 home record, with the only defeat occurring against Utah on Jan. 15.
–    All six of TCU’s losses have been against teams ranked in the top 85 of the NET.
–    Out of TCU’s 38 wins over AP Top 25 teams in its history, 23 have been during Dixon’s tenure.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
–   Kansas has a record of 13-4 overall and 4-2 in the Big 12 following an 83-74 victory over Kansas State on Saturday. KU was ranked No. 1 in the preseason and is now positioned at No. 12 in the AP Poll.
–   The Jayhawks are guided by two-time All-American Hunter Dickinson, who leads the conference with 10.2 rebounds per game and ranks fifth with 15.8 points a game. He has recorded nine double-doubles this season, leading the league.
–   KU ranks as one of the top defensive teams nationally, coming in fourth in defensive efficiency (89.7), ninth in field goal percentage defense (37.6), and 24th in 3-point percentage defense (29.1).
 
SERIES HISTORY
–    Kansas holds a 26-4 edge in the historic series and has been victorious in the last two encounters.
–    KU also leads the series in Fort Worth, 10-2. TCU last triumphed in Fort Worth on March 1, 2022, with a score of 74-64.
–    The only meeting last season saw Kansas win 83-81 in Lawrence after 11 ties and 26 lead changes.   
 
LAST TIME OUT
–    Brendan Wenzel sank a 3-pointer with 5.0 seconds remaining, clinching a 74-71 victory for TCU at No. 25 Baylor on Sunday.
–    Wenzel topped TCU with 17 points, including four 3-pointers.
–    Ernest Udeh Jr. achieved a career-high 16 points along with a season-best 15 rebounds and a personal-best four blocked shots.
–    TCU gained a 41-25 advantage in rebounding over Baylor, marking the first time in Big 12 play they have out-rebounded their opponent.
