Astronomy and Astrophysics Advisory Committee Assembly | NSF

The Astronomy and Astrophysics Advisory Committee is a federal advisory committee chartered beneath the Federal Advisory Committee Act on the advice of the Presidential Committee on the Organization and Management of Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics (COMRAA).

The function of this assembly is to supply recommendation and suggestions to the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) on points throughout the area of astronomy and astrophysics which are of mutual curiosity and concern to the businesses.

The agenda will likely be posted quickly.

This is a digital assembly that may happen on August 15 from 10:00 a.m. to six:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The committee will hear displays by representatives from NSF, NASA, DOE and different businesses related to astronomy and astrophysics. The major function of those displays features a dialogue of present programming and potential areas of cooperation between the businesses, in addition to suggestions for continued and new areas of cooperation and mechanisms for attaining them.
