Effective, August 7, 2025, U.S. Embassy Harare has briefly paused all routine visa providers.  This pause consists of functions for immigrant visas in addition to nonimmigrant visas for vacationers, enterprise vacationers, college students, alternate guests, and most different nonimmigrant classes.  Concerned visa candidates have been notified.  We will replace our web site when appointment scheduling resumes and inform candidates whose appointments had been rescheduled.  Applications for A-1, A-2, G-1, G-2, G-4, C-2, and C-3 diplomatic and official visas will proceed to be processed.

Can I schedule an appointment?

At this time, no visa appointments will be scheduled at U.S. Embassy Harare.  We will replace our web site when appointment scheduling resumes and inform candidates straight once they can reschedule. 

Why are appointments being cancelled?

The Department of State is dedicated to making sure that its visa course of upholds the best requirements for U.S. nationwide safety and public security.  We are at present reviewing and evaluating present screening and vetting procedures worldwide.

Does this have an effect on my present legitimate visa?

No.  This doesn’t have an effect on any at present legitimate visas.

Can I get a refund if my present appointment is affected by the pause?

No. Appointment scheduling will resume after the pause is lifted. At that point, appointments affected by the pause will likely be rescheduled, and the candidates will likely be notified. Nonimmigrant visa utility charges are legitimate for one year from the date of receipt issuance for candidates to schedule their interview appointments. The interview appointment itself could happen later than the 365-day cutoff date, so long as the scheduling is accomplished inside one year.
