Canberra nightclub evacuated after lady allegedly releases capsicum spray

Patrons at a Canberra nightclub skilled respiration difficulties together with eye and pores and skin irritation after a girl allegedly launched capsicum spray contained in the venue.

ACT Policing stated it was known as to Fun Time Pony on Alinga Street at about 1:30am after a chemical substance was allegedly launched inside.

Police evacuated the nightclub and an ACT Fire and Rescue HAZMAT crew was known as in. 

A 20-year-old lady was arrested and a search of her possessions allegedly situated a can of oleoresin capsicum spray inside a black purse. 

Police consider that was the substance launched contained in the membership. 

One patron instructed the ABC he ran out of the venue, describing the scene as “chaotic”.

“We didn’t know what was happening,” he stated.

First help was given by St John Ambulance volunteers exterior the venue.

Fun Time Pony was at capability on the time of the incident.

The lady has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent and appearing inflicting public hurt. She was as a result of face courtroom at a later date. 

Police are urging witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
