UN local weather report back to function Reading experience

Climate specialists on the University of Reading are set to play a serious function within the newest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report.

The report is a complete evaluation of data on local weather change, its causes, potential impacts and response choices. 

Professor Richard Allan and Dr Andrea Dittus from the Department of Meteorology will contribute to Working Group I, which examines the bodily science underpinning previous, current and future local weather change. Professor Benoit Mayer, from the University of Reading’s School of Law, will probably be a lead creator of Working Group III, which focuses on local weather change mitigation, assessing strategies for lowering emissions and eradicating greenhouse gases from the ambiance. 

The key findings of the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report (AR7) are as a consequence of be printed round late 2029. The Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), printed in 2021, featured contributions from a dozen lecturers on the University of Reading.
