‘Operation Fun in the Sun’ cracks down on registered intercourse offenders

INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) – Officers from a number of regulation enforcement businesses went door-to-door checking on intercourse offenders.

Independence County sheriff’s deputies, together with the Batesville Police Department and the Arkansas Department of Corrections Division of Community Corrections, lately performed a collection of compliance checks.

Sheriff Shawn Stephens mentioned “Operation Fun in the Sun” was a part of an “ongoing effort to ensure that registered sex offenders residing in the community are following all legal requirements.”

A complete of 72 registered offenders have been checked. Of these, 42 have been discovered to be in full compliance, in line with Wednesday’s information launch.

Nineteen had minor violations, which included failing to register present handle, noncompliance with residency restrictions, failure to replace driver’s license, failure to report social media, and failure to replace employment info.
