Underwood Joins NABC Board of Directors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NABC introduced Wednesday the appointment of 9 head males’s basketball coaches to the NABC Board of Directors, a bunch that features Fighting Illini head coach Brad Underwood. The coaches – who collectively signify all three NCAA divisions – formally started their phrases on Sept. 2 by collaborating within the annual NABC Board of Directors fall assembly.

Joining the NABC Board of Directors in 2025-26 as new members together with Underwood are Baylor head coach Scott Drew, North Georgia head coach Dan Evans, Yale head coach James Jones, Pomona-Pitzer head coach Charles Katsiaficas, Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope, Duke head coach Jon Scheyer, and Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry.

The NABC Board of Directors is the NABC’s prime management physique, offering strategic oversight of the affiliation’s day by day operations and advocacy work. The Board’s composition consists of representatives from all three NCAA divisions, together with the NAIA, two-year faculty and highschool ranges.

“As college athletics and the game of basketball undergo unprecedented transformation, it’s vital that coaches continue to present a unified voice and demonstrate sound national leadership,” stated NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. “These nine coaches were identified by their peers as ideal candidates to represent our over 5,000 members on the NABC Board of Directors, and their diverse perspectives will strengthen the NABC’s efforts to support the profession and grow the sport.”
