Omaha Camera Club celebrates 100 years of images, photographers

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A giant celebration is being held in North Downtown because the Omaha Camera Club reaches its a hundredth anniversary.

The membership held its first assembly in 1925 on the South Omaha Library, and each the membership and know-how have come a great distance since.

Trish Place began her profession in pictures eager to take photos of a really high-profile group of individuals.

“I wanted to be a rock ‘n’ roll photographer,” she stated with fun.

Now she has modified her focus to the images she takes.

“Landscapes, historical buildings. I have three grandkids so of course there’s that,” she stated.

Trish has been a member of the Omaha Camera Club for about 15 years. This yr, the members have a good time the membership’s a hundredth anniversary.

“A group of these people got together and said, ‘Let’s experiment. Let’s teach each other how to do photography. Let’s go around, take photos,” Trish stated.

“It’s like any art form. It has to be a person creating that image.”
