Shively Farms pumpkin patch brings enjoyable for all ages

Berryton, Kan. (WIBW) – Pumpkin choosing season is in full swing, and households are having fun with the choice at Shively Farms.

“Making memories, that’s the most important thing,” visitor Emily Steinert stated. “My son is two, so this is the time to do all that.”

The pumpkin patch, situated in Berryton, has tons of actions and enjoyable for all ages.

“There’s things for bigger kids and adults too. Like my mom and my mother-in-law, they were going down the zip line and the swings, so anyone of any age can enjoy it.”

“Oh it’s a blast, when you’re seeing people have fun and they’re laughing and giggling like a little kid,” Shively Farms co-owner Jay Shively stated. “I mean like we saw zip lining, the older gentleman up there, they were just having a blast. I bet it just brings back being a child and having fun again and forgetting the rest of the world what’s going on.”

While the farm is open for a lot of months, October is the busiest for pumpkin season.

“We’re just busy really hauling out pumpkins and just watching people have a good time come through the gate,” Shively stated. “It’s really enjoyable.”

Guests say one among their favourite components of going to Shively Farms is supporting an area enterprise.

“We’re all about supporting the local community,” Steinert stated. “We like seeing these kind of mom and pop areas, I think it’s really fun. And here especially you know they have all the homemade things and they really put a lot of effort into it.”

The enterprise is situated at 5840 SE Croco Rd, Berryton, KS 66409. It’s open Friday to Sunday every weekend via November 2nd.
