Sitz Earns ACC Diver of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – SMU All-American diver Luke Sitz has been named ACC Diver of the Week after his double-win efficiency on the SMU Classic, introduced the convention in a launch on Tuesday.

Sitz is coming off an elite efficiency on the SMU Classic on Oct. 10-11. On the primary day of the meet, the sophomore claimed a dominant victory on 1-meter over three ranked groups (LSU, Auburn, Louisville), incomes a rating of 389.10. His rating presently ranks seventh within the nation for this season. 

On the second day of competitors, Sitz nabbed his second win of the meet, scoring a nation-leading 408.25 on 3-meter. His efficiency earned him an NCAA Zone Cut and a spot on the NCAA Zone Diving Championships on March September 11 in College Station, Texas.

This accolade marks the seventh time the Texas native has earned a convention weekly honor, being named ACC Diver of the Week a conference-record six occasions final season. As a freshman, Sitz earned seventh on 1-meter on the NCAA Championships, incomes him First Team All-America accolades. At the ACC Championships, he nabbed a silver medal on 3-meter and a bronze medal on 1-meter.

Luke Sitz and the remainder of the SMU Swimming and Diving workforce will likely be again in motion at house on Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. CT and Oct. 25 at 9 a.m. CT. The Mustangs are set to tackle No. 23 Texas A&M.
