There will likely be a celebration of life for Joshua Tree photographer Ellie Tyler this Sunday, November 2nd from 3:00 to five:00 p.m. on the Hi-Desert Artists Art Center.
Ellie and her husband, Craig, made Joshua Tree their house in 1994. She lived there till her passing in 2016 on the age of 67. Ellie was a longtime instructor in Joshua Tree and spent her college breaks touring and tenting throughout the western United States with Craig, all whereas honing her ardour for panorama images.
Ellie remained dedicated to movie even after the switchover to digital. She valued its sharpness, readability, and the richness of colour it produced—qualities she believed digital know-how couldn’t totally replicate.
Following Craig’s dying in December 2024, his property donated Ellie’s remaining pictures to the Hi-Desert Artists Gallery and Shop. A choice of her work is at present on show and accessible for buy within the Art Center’s Annex.
The celebration of life will embrace a potluck, and buddies, neighbors, and admirers of Ellie’s work are invited to attend.
