5 Bison Take Dwelling NEC Swimming & Diving Weekly Accolades

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (January 21, 2026) – The NEC revealed its males’s and girls’s swimming & diving weekly accolades the place Howard University noticed 5 Bison acknowledged for his or her excellent efforts towards Towson, VMI and Saint Francis. The announcement got here Wednesday afternoon.
 
Juniors Mason Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Chanice Posada (Houston) gained NEC Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week, respectively. Newcomers Ayrton Moncur (Nassau, Bahamas) and Brooke Whitt (Chicago) claimed Men’s and Women’s Rookie of the Week, respectively. Second-year Bison Zion Wilson (San Antonio) took house the league’s Men’s Diver of the Week.
 
Green took first place within the 100 Fly versus Towson (Jan. 14), registering a NEC-best and CSCAA B-cut time of 48.07.
 
Saturday (Jan. 17), Posada led the 200 Medley Relay squad to victory within the tri-meet towards VMI and Saint Francis, posting a leadoff 25.24 time, which certified as a CSCAA B-cut mark.
 
Moncur earned his first NEC weekly award after profitable the 50 Breast with a 26.41 mark, which ranks sixth within the convention.
 
Whitt picked up her first NEC Rookie of the Week nod after posting three wins: 100 Breast (1:05.89); 50 Breast (30.03) and 200 Medley Relay (30.31, second-leg).
 
Wilson grew to become the third Bison to win NEC Diver of the Week this season after claiming victory within the 1-meter dive at VMI with a formidable 264.38 rating.
 
All 5 Bison, together with senior Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) and sophomore Mark Brown (Greensboro, N.C.), made the NEC Prime Performers listing.
 
Central Connecticut State’s Jewelle Maziarz grabbed NEC Women’s Diver of the Week.
 
On Jan. 31, HU faces Catholic on Senior Day. First race is scheduled for 1 p.m.
