Longtime Jefferson Park enterprise proprietor Dick Nopar passes away; his images studio stood at 4900 N. Milwaukee – Nadig Newspapers

Richard Nopar, who for many years operated Edward Fox Photography in Jefferson Park, handed away at age 95 on Jan. 22.

Mr. Nopar may typically be seen displaying a giant smile whereas he walked across the enterprise district. In the late Seventies, he served as president of the Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce.

In 1969, Mr. Nopar relocated the household enterprise to the previous Molay Furniture constructing at 4900 N. Milwaukee Ave. A bronze statue depicting a photographer from the Nineteen Twenties stood in entrance of the studio, which featured a 600-pound forged aluminum entrance door that was designed by Bruce Fink, who additionally designed the statue.

Nopar’s grandfather was Edward Fox, whom the enterprise is called after. It is believed to be one of many oldest images companies within the nation.

George Karzas, the previous proprietor of the Gale Street Inn, 4914 N. Milwaukee Ave., described Mr. Nopar as a mentor.
