Swimming celebrates senior day with wins over Evansville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University swim groups concluded the common season on Saturday, delivering a sweep of Evansville on Senior Day at Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center.

Bellarmine’s males turned in 25 podium finishes, together with 9 golds, en path to a 167-38 victory over Evansville whereas the ladies recorded 17 podium finishes and 5 golds of their 114-88 win over the Purple Aces.

Two Knights in junior Evan Dickson and freshman Ahmet Efe Inceoglu turned in two wins for the lads. Dickson touched the wall first within the 200 freestyle (1:41.17) and the five hundred freestyle (4:40.24) whereas Inceoglu claimed the 50 freestyle (20.91) and the 100 freestyle (44.62).

Five different males recorded one win every in senior Sam Jones (1000 free, 9:38.57), freshman Carter Souliere (200 IM, 1:52.39), junior Reece Pennington (100 butterfly, 50.02), junior Colin Jackson (100 again, 50.19) and freshman Zach May (100 breaststroke, 57.30).

On the ladies’s aspect, sophomore Ava Jones and freshman Kaja Vaadal led the way in which with two wins every. Jones secured the 50 freestyle (23.93) and the 100 freestyle (52.31) whereas Vaadal gained the five hundred freestlye (5:15.91) and the 1000 freestyle (10:46.07).

Senior Erin Dall’Agnol rounded out the highest finishers with a primary place within the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.12.

Up subsequent, Bellarmine will take a while to arrange for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships happening in Orlando, FL February 18-21.
