Tigers In Third Place After First Day of SCAC Championships

Thanks to a first-place end within the 800 freestyle relay, the Colorado College ladies’s swimming & diving workforce is in third place after the primary two occasions of the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on the Garland ISD Natatorium.
 
CC’s high 200-yard medley workforce consisting of Julia Cox, Annie Engstrom, Alyssa Tunggal and Adeline Turner received with a time of seven:46.32 and picked up 40 factors. The ‘B’ workforce of Grace Ersfeld-O’Brien, Margaret Rauth, Isabella Cole and Sarah Buchman positioned ninth, good for 18 factors.
 
Unfortunately, the highest 200-yard medley relay workforce was disqualified, however the ‘B’ workforce of Lizzie McWilliams, Engstrom, Tunggal and Simonson positioned ninth with a time of 1:49.15 for 18 factors.
  
“When our women were disqualified in the first event, I was proud of how they responded,” head coach Jen Buffin stated. “To come back and win the 800 free relay speaks to their resilience and belief in one another. We’ll carry that focus into tomorrow’s individual races.”

CC is in first place with 76 factors, trailing Asbury and University of the Ozarks, every with 88.

The SCAC Championships proceed on Thursday with 4 extra occasions. The preliminaries start at 9:30 a.m. (MT), adopted by the finals at 5 p.m. (MT).
