Foard’s Kathryn Cinson wins MVP; LNC dominates 4A ladies swimming championship for 3-peat

CARY, N.C. — Parades are finished over land, not by water.

But a parade to the rostrum took the aquatic route for Lake Norman Charter’s ladies on Thursday within the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A swimming and diving championships.

The Knights obliterated the remainder of the sphere on the Triangle Aquatic Center, taking their third straight state championship with a whopping 490.5 factors.

The next-closest was Carrboro with 291.

Lake Norman Charter received seven occasions, together with diving — which was held Wednesday at Pullen Aquatic Center — and all three relays.

The race for MVP was simple sufficient as Fred T. Foard’s Kathryn Cinson was the lone double-winner of the day, taking house the 200 IM and the five hundred free.

LNC’s Avery Newsome and Carrboro’s Ellie Hill had been named NCHSAA sportsmanship winners, given to at least one athlete from each the state champion and runner-up staff.
