A Fort Dodge firefighter directs a hose stream into the engine compartment of a sport utility car that caught hearth moments after a collision Friday afternoon on the intersection of Fifth Avenue South and twenty ninth Street. The crash occurred at about 4 p.m. It concerned a Ram pickup and the Chevrolet SUV. No one was injured. The crash stays below investigation by Fort Dodge police. While firefighters and police labored on the scene, the east sure lanes of Fifth Avenue South have been closed and all eastbound visitors was directed north onto twenty ninth Street. The visitors lights at that busy intersection weren’t working usually all day Friday and a four-way cease signal had been positioned within the intersection earlier within the day.
