Jon Joseph Hornish, 60, handed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, in Defiance, Ohio. Born in Bryan, Ohio, on June 26, 1965, Jon moved via the world with heat, coronary heart, and a deeply creative spirit.
A 1983 graduate of Defiance Senior High School and a 1990 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Master’s diploma. Throughout his life, he remained a passionate lover of music and the humanities. An avid traveler, he noticed the world via a novel eye, capturing its magnificence via the lens of his digicam. Jon’s creative view of life, shared via his pictures, leaves behind a legacy of cherished recollections and pictures for all who knew him.
Jon was preceded in dying by Dieter Gray, Kenny Cashman, and Amanda Dobbelaere.
He is survived by his mother and father, Anita Peel, Sam Hornish (Jo Ellen); his siblings, Lisa (Mark Durre), Laurie Cashman (Paul Roehrig), Rob (Balynda Gray), Sheana (Matt Behringer), Michelle (Scott Thomas), April Hahn, and Sam (Crystal Hornish); and his many adoring nieces and nephews: Tim, Zach, Nate, Joe, Eric, Sean, Nick, Jon Henry, Dusty, Ashley, Nathan, Alex, Britny, Cheyenne, Ryan, Alaina, Jacob, Marisa, Mitchell, Jill, Jude, Sadie, Hope, Addison, Eliza, Jensen, Levi, and Sam. Jon additionally had many aunts and uncles, cousins, nice nieces and nephews, and associates alike. He liked them ALL!
A personal service shall be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson-Roessner Chapel with a Masonic Funeral Service to comply with.
