Hundreds have a good time Fourth of July at Asheville’s Independence Day Block Party

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The Independence Day Block Party invited the general public to benefit from the Fourth of July on America’s 250th anniversary with loads of enjoyable, ending the evening with a bang… of fireworks.

The Asheville Downtown Association hosted the occasion within the South Slope. During the occasion, organizers instructed News 13 they had been anticipating 15,000 folks.

“A bunch of ice cream, dog shows, restaurants. It just brings people together, I think, is the best part,” stated Asheville resident Michael Haskin, who attended the occasion.

A automobile present, dwell music and different festivities drew in giant crowds regardless of the new climate.

“It’s hot, sweating. It would be nice if it was cooler, but it’s just the way it is,” stated DJ Martin, who was on the occasion.

“Just walk in the shade, that’s all you do,” responded his spouse, Pat Martin.

“And drink lots of cool beer and drink some ice. That’s about all you can do. We try to make do,” stated DJ.

Blaze On Creations proprietor Michele Cook, a vendor on the occasion, was grateful to those that confirmed up and supported small companies.

“Today has just been nice to be able to see a bunch of people just walking around and getting out and saying hi. 250 years is kind of a big deal, whatever political stance you have, so it’s a beautiful thing,” Cook stated.

To end off the evening, fireworks shot off at The Ironwood Parking Garage round 9:40 p.m., ending round 10 p.m.
