The Charlevoix Public Library and the Little Traverse Conservancy are partnering on a Storywalk occasion at Enji-minozhiiyaamigak: The Place of Peacefulness Nature Preserve.

Get back-to-school prepared

MyMichigan Medical Center Sault will host a session on “Back-to-School Wellness & Awareness” at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19. 

The program, a part of the month-to-month neighborhood training sequence, will concentrate on scholar wellness, physicals and steering for folks. The occasion is free and open to the general public.

Learn about bald eagles

Friends of the Boyne River will current a program referred to as “Michigan’s Majestic Bald Eagles” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19 on the Boyne District Library. 

The program will be led by Dr. Carl Palazzolo, a wildlife veterinarian and photographer. Guests will be able to “get up close with a live, truly majestic bald eagle,” according to the event description.

The program is free to attend.

Find new art

Art Vision Cheboygan will be having an art sale benefit from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20 at Hive North. 

The art selection will include paintings, pottery, weavings and more. There will also be appetizers for guess to enjoy. 

All proceeds from the sale will go towards Art Vision projects.

Support rescue animals

The Little Traverse Bay Humane Society’s Howl at the Moon fundraiser is set for Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Walstrom Marine Boat Warehouse in Harbor Springs. 

The evening begins with a VIP cocktail hour from 5-6 p.m., followed by the main event from 6-9 p.m. 

The event will include food, drinks, auctions and more.
