MANASQUAN ‑- Borough officers have reopened the water for swimming after about 60 syringes or extra washed up on the seaside Saturday.

Mayor Michael Mangan confirmed to the Asbury Park Press the morning of Sunday, Aug. 23, that bathers can return into the water following the medical waste incident.

Mangan stated the borough’s Office of Emergency Management held a gathering this morning on the inlet with borough officers, seaside workers and the Monmouth County Health Department.
