Poetry & Photography Walk a part of Mountain-Bay State Trail thirtieth anniversary celebration

SHAWANO (WLUK) — Taking to the paths is a part of “How WI Live” in Wisconsin, and in Shawano County persons are marking 30 years for the Mountain-Bay State Trail.

On one stretch of path in Shawano, Lori Hayes says the poetry and pictures stroll alerts folks to take it slowly.

“We have 20 poems along the trail, and we have six photographs. The theme this year was travel. So they had to have an idea of travel in their poetry or in their photography,” mentioned Lori Hayes, Mountain-Bay Trail Poetry & Photography Walk Coordinator.

The poetry and pictures stroll is a part of the thirtieth anniversary celebration for the Mountain-Bay State Trail. Shawano Pathways Secretary Chris Bartz says one occasion features a tike hike, the place kids assist create initiatives made out of gadgets like ferns, fruit, and flowers.

“What we’re hoping is that the kids will take the time to look around. Explore what’s around them. Pick up things. Feel them. Just play. Play in nature,” mentioned Chris Bartz, Shawano Pathways Secretary.

“When you read a poem, three people can read it, and come up with three different understandings of what that was. The same thing with a photograph. You look at it, and does it remind you of home? Does it remind you of a favorite place you visited? You just never know what people are going to bring from it. The thirtieth anniversary celebration is scheduled to happen on Saturday September 26, on the trailhead in downtown Shawano.
