Alyssa Brown named Assistant Swimming Coach

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University Athletics has confirmed the hiring of Alyssa Brown as an assistant swimming coach. Brown will help first-year head coach Andrew Hale ’23 with all points of this system.
 
“I am super excited to welcome Alyssa as our new assistant swim coach,” Hale mentioned. “Alyssa brings a ton of knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm to the pool deck, having swam collegiately at both East Stroudsburg and Shippensburg. Her personality and passion will be a great fit for the team culture we are building here at Ship.”
 
Brown accomplished her collegiate swimming profession final season as a graduate switch with the Raiders after spending her first three seasons with the Warriors of East Stroudsburg. At the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, Brown achieved new private bests in every of the 4 freestyle occasions by which she competed – the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.56), the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.72), the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:12.11) and the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:49.25).

A local of Shippensburg and an alumna of Shippensburg Area Senior High School, Brown was a staff captain and a PIAA District III Championships medalist with the Greyhounds who contributed to a pair of Mid-Penn Colonial Division titles.
 
Brown has labored as a youth swim coach for a number of years. A USA Swimming coach, she is at the moment an teacher on the Shippensburg Aquatic Club.
