Kane County images contest opens for all highschool college students – Shaw Native

Kane County Student Photography Contest opens Monday, Sept. 14 and continues by Monday, Nov. 16, with a brand new theme introduced each Monday for 10 weeks, officers introduced in a information launch.

Last 12 months’s contest had greater than 2,700 submissions from 17 excessive colleges, from all public faculty districts, Marmion Academy and Rosary College Prep.

“This contest is one of my favorite highlights of the school year because it places student expression front and center,” Regional Superintendent John Jonak stated within the launch.

“When our young artists look through the camera lens, they capture the story of Kane County – our communities, our culture and our daily growth,” Jonak stated within the launch. “It’s an incredible platform that challenges students’ creative thinking, and I can’t wait to see the talent on display this fall.”

Weekly themes are:

• Sept. 14: Monochrome

• Sept. 21: Portrait

• Sept. 28: Texture

• Oct. 5: Architecture

• Oct. 13: Close Up

• Oct. 19: Autumnal

• Oct. 26: Humor and Hijinks

• Nov. 2: Flora and Fauna

• Nov. 9: School Spirit

• Nov. 16: Artist’s Choice

The ROE’s Photography Review Committee critiques each submission and selects the highest 10 pictures to publish on its web site, in its newsletters and on social media.

Each week, the committee names a successful photograph, and that scholar will obtain an award, in keeping with the discharge.

Teachers are answerable for submitting and verifying the authenticity of their college students’ images. Teachers can register a category by emailing Kourtney Lipps at klipps@kaneroe.org.

Submissions are due each Monday by 3:30 p.m., or Tuesday if Monday is a vacation.

Winners will probably be celebrated at a reception 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at Reception at Interiors for Business Inc., 409 N. River St., Batavia, the place each featured photograph will probably be displayed.
