Tips to Keep Your Fitness New Year’s Resolution


CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — With the new year upon us, many people are starting to make their resolutions to kick off 2019.

Popular ones include getting in shape, or losing weight, but it’s easy to burn out.

There are things you can do to keep those fitness New Year’s resolutions.

Chelsea Wininger with Planet Fitness recommends doing a mix of cardio and weight lifting.

She says you should start small, and set realistic goals.

“You want to set a short term goal, and a long term goal,” Wininger said. “A short term goal is going to keep changing, as you keep accomplishing your short term goals to get to your final long term goal. Another tip would be to stay consistent with it. You’re not going to change completely overnight, so you just need to be patient, and know that if you stay consistent with it, that’s when you’re really going to see the results and changes.”

Wininger says it’s good to work out every other day, or three days a week.
