Pune: A serial laptop computer thief focusing on passengers of the state transport buses was arrested just lately from Karmala in Solapur district and 19 devices price Rs4.Four lakh have been seized from him.
Dilip Dikole (30) stole 4 laptops from the Maharashtra State Highway Transport Company (MSRTC)’s Swargate bus stand and one from Shivajinagar. “We are tracing the owners of the remaining 14 laptops,” stated senior inspector Brahmanand Naikwadi of the Swargate police.
He stated Dikole’s confederate, Samadhan Bhosale (29), was additionally arrested for serving to in promoting the stolen laptops. “Bhosale sold the laptops to local youths at throwaway prices. He was later released on bail,” Naikwadi stated.
Following a spurt within the theft of laptops from the MSRTC buses, policemen have been deployed at stands to hint the suspect. “While checking footage of the CCTV cameras installed on the premises of the Swargate bus stand, two passengers identified a suspect as Dikole from Solapur district,” Naikwadi stated.

He also revealed that he had disposed of the stolen laptops through his friend, Bhosale. We have recovered 19 laptops from different villages in and around Karmala,” Naikwadi stated.
The senior inspector stated Dikole used a novel methodology to steal laptops. He carried an empty laptop computer bag and go across the bus stands. “After identifying a person carrying a laptop, Dikole followed him,” Naikwadi stated.
