Proposed images allow by the Metropolis of Colorado Springs causes confusion

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Metropolis of Colorado Springs parks division is contemplating a brand new annual allow for business photographers, sparking some questions over who must pay the yearly charge.

“There has been a lot of confusion circulating about commercial photography permits in Garden of the Gods Park,” the parks division wrote on Fb on Tuesday, “At this time, commercial photo or video projects where the final product is for the customer’s personal use do NOT require a permit. This includes weddings, engagement photos, graduation photos, etc.”

The allow is aimed toward “photographers who profit from use of the park,” in accordance with the social media submit.

“Though not final, the permit fee under consideration is $500 a year and will include all city parks, including Garden of the Gods,” the submit reads. “A photo permit for City parks NOT including Garden of the Gods is proposed to be $250 [per] year. Over the last week, we’ve heard concerns from the photography community regarding this structure.”
