LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2021-22 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors on Monday. Fifteen different members of the Columbia softball team were recognized on the list.
 
Columbia’s All-America Scholar-Athletes include Lauren Apollaro, Bubba Gleaves, Jaden Hill, Jordan Hill, Kat LoVerde, Dani Mandichak, Kaia McCaul, Cami Neal, Lauren Osborne, Maria Pagane, Caroline Palys, Maddy Rifenberick, Megan Ryono, Maddie Souza and Abby Stuart. NCAA Division I boasted a total of 2,155 All-America Scholar-Athletes. In order to be recognized, a student-athlete must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
 
Additionally, 150 Division I softball programs were recognized as having achieved a combined Team GPA above 3.0. Of those 150 programs, Columbia ranked No. 22 nationally with a 3.608 Team GPA.
 
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association’s membership categories. Team GPAs and scholar-athletes are submitted by member head coaches.
