Travel and Venue Information

COVID INFORMATION
Up-to-date travel guidance is available from Los Angeles County. It is strongly recommended that people continue to wear masks that fit and filter well in all indoor public places. High-efficacy masks (N95, KN95, KF94, or surgical-style masks) will be required in plenary and poster sessions, and all other indoor spaces except individual hotel lodging rooms. In order to pick up their meeting badges, attendees must be able to show proof of vaccination or negative test results within the last 48 hours. Attendees must also certify they are free from recent close exposure to COVID-19, and free from COVID-19 symptoms.

MEETING VENUE
The SCEC Annual Meeting will be held at the Hilton Palm Springs Resort in Palm Springs, California.

FLIGHTS AND GROUND TRANSPORT
Participants are recommended to fly directly into Palm Springs Airport (PSP), which is 2 miles from the meeting venue. The Hilton Palm Springs Resort offers a free shuttle service to/from the airport. Participants are asked to call the Hilton front desk (1-760-320-6868) to schedule a ride.

LODGING
A block of rooms at the Hilton Palm Springs Resort is reserved for the SCEC Annual Meeting at the federal per diem rate of $114 per night. An additional resort fee and local taxes will apply. A limited number of rooms at the Hilton are available through the group reservation page. The “Quick Book” feature will automatically reserve Sunday-Tuesday nights for you. If you wish to check in on an earlier or out later date, be sure to edit your reservation dates.

There are also many other hotels within walking distance of the meeting venue. Use the Hilton address (400 E. Tahquitz Canyon) in your favorite travel booking site to locate one nearby.

The Southern California Earthquake Center is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all participants. We take pride in fostering a diverse and inclusive SCEC community, and therefore expect all participants to abide by the SCEC Activities Code of Conduct.
