•    Freshman Andie Smith closed her first collegiate tournament with back-to-back birdies on her way to finishing with a 3-over-par, 75.  After draining seven birdies the day before, Smith couldn’t quite get the putter working as well on Wednesday.  She hit 12 greens and made birdies on No. 2, No. 17 and No. 18.  Smith reached the green in two on the par-5 18th and had a 32-foot putt for eagle.  She finished tied for 29th with scores of 77, 69 and 75 for a 221.

•    After turning in a runner-up finish a season ago at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, Duke was in the top four in 2022

•    Duke finished with 51 birdies, which ranked third in the field.

•    Brinker finished with a 4-under score on par-4 holes, which was tied for first for the tournament.

“I played super solid all week.  I started off even par, which I was definitely happy with.  I knew I could go lower.  But, overall this is a pretty difficult course so I am just really happy I was able to minimize the mistakes I had and capitalize on the birdies I was able to make.”   – Duke junior Phoebe Brinker

“We were in the hunt all day today and that is right where Duke belongs.  It was a great day and was a lot of fun.  I am very excited about the fall.  We don’t play until October and I am looking forward to every one of those events.” — Duke head coach Dan Brooks
