WINTERSVILLE — The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club held its annual competition on Sept. 6 at Two Ridges Presbyterian Church in Wintersville.

The judges were professional photographers Amber Faith Dawson, Brandi Birkhimer, Tamara Green and Hannah Barlow. More than 220 photos were submitted to be judged in 16 categories.

The winners were:

– Architecture: First place, Sam Rees: second, Tami Hosterman; and third, Karen Felix.

– Black and White: First place, Diane Bannister; second, John Hanish; and third, Tami Hosterman.

– Bokeh: First place, Dave Rees; second, Karen Felix; and third, Diane Bannister.

– Children, candid/formal: First place, Sam Rees; second, Tami Hosterman; and third, Michelle Stevens.

– Close-Up: First place, John Hanish; second, Karen Felix; and third, Tami Hosterman.

– Flowers/Plants: First place, Barb Momyer; second, Michelle Stevens; and third, Tami Hosterman.

– Night Photography: First place, Michelle Stevens; second, Michelle Stevens; and third, Barb Momyer.

– Open: First place, Karen Felix; second, John Hanish; and third, Barb Momyer.

– Pets: First place, Tami Hosterman; second, Michelle Stevens; and third, Barb Momyer.

– People-Candid/Formal: First place, John Hanish; second, John Newlin; and third, Dave Rees.

– Scenic: First place, Dave Rees; second, Michelle Stevens; and third, Dave Rees.

– Best of Show: Michelle Stevens.

The camera club will feature all the winning pictures from the annual competition as well as many other pictures at an exhibit to open on Sept. 29 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Top of WV, 3539 Main St., Weirton in the Summit Art Gallery.

The display will include photographs taken with digital and film cameras as well as with cell phones. The exhibit will continue through Oct. 29 during Top of WV business hours Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club welcomes anyone who has an interest in photography. All formats are welcomed — medium, film, DSLR, mirrorless, smartphone, bridge, compact digital, 360 and instant. The club’s next meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, 1085 Canton Road, Wintersville.
