Senior QB honored for the third time in career

PHILADELPHIA – University of Pennsylvania sprint football senior quarterback Andrew Paolini and freshman wide receiver Brandon Graves both earned Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) honors, announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Paolini was named CSFL Offensive Player of the Week and Graves earned CSFL Rookie of the Week honors in the very first time the awards were handed out in 2022.

Now a three-time Offensive Player of the Week honoree, Paolini led the Quakers to a 30-7 victory Friday night against Alderson Broaddus at Franklin Field, picking up four total touchdowns in the victory. He threw three TDs through the air and one on the ground, completing 20 completions for 320 passing yards. Friday marked the first time in Paolini’s career that he reached the 300-yard plateau in a single game.

Graves fit into Paolini’s passing game like a glove on Friday, already establishing himself early in his career as a dangerous scoring threat. He caught five passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns, shredding the Battler secondary. Graves caught Paolini’s longest pass of the night, a 52-yard strike downfield that put the Quakers ahead, 16-7, with nine seconds left on the clock heading to halftime. He closed his night with a highlight-reel catch, a 31-yard touchdown in which Graves caught the deflected ball off a defender, finishing his sprint into the endzone for the score, putting the finishing touches on the contest.

Sophomore defensive back/punter/kicker Adrian Montemayor was tabbed to the CSFL Honor Roll for his strong performance against Alderson Broaddus. On defense, he registered five tackles and an interception, while on special teams, Montemayor went 4-for-4 on extra point attempts.

Up next, the Quakers head to Sparkill, N.Y. to take on Saint Thomas Aquinas Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
