MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team is set to co-host Thunder in the Mountains, alongside Marshall, in Charleston, West Virginia, from Sept. 23-25, for the third time since 2019.
 
“Every year we look forward to traveling to Charleston and hosting Thunder in the Mountains with Marshall,” WVU coach Miha Lisac said. “This year we have a great lineup of teams, welcoming Cincinnati and VCU. We’re looking forward to interacting with the local community, as well as getting good competitive matches in.”
 
First serve from the Kanawaha City Rec Center on Friday and Saturday is set for 10 a.m. ET, while Sunday’s competition will begin at 9:45 a.m. Score updates will be posted on WVUSports.com at the end of each day for this weekend’s tournament.
 
In Friday’s tournament opener, West Virginia is set to go toe-to-toe in doubles against soon-to-be Big 12 member Cincinnati at 10 a.m., followed by another round of doubles against VCU at 10:40 a.m. Rounding out the first day of competition, the Mountaineers will face the Thundering Herd in singles at 6 p.m.
 
WVU kicks off Saturday with doubles against Marshall, with first serve set for 3:30 p.m., and will conclude the second day of play with singles against the Bearcats at 4:15 p.m.
 
To close the weekend, the Mountaineers square up with VCU once more for doubles play at 9:45 a.m.
