THIS WEEK: The Air Force golf team travels Grand Haven, Mich., for the inaugural Folds of Honor Tournament, Monday-Wednesday, Sept. 26-28, at the American Dunes Golf Club. The teams will play 18 holes each day, with tee times starting at 9:30 am ET, at the par-72 course. Live stats will be available at www.golfstat.com.

THE FIELD: The 18-team field includes four of the top 26 teams in the nation in the Bushnell/GolfWeek national poll (Sept. 9). The field includes Air Force, Arizona (#25), Army, Central Michigan, Clemson (#26), Eastern Michigan, Florida State (#18), Grand Valley State, Illinois (#11), Kansas, Liberty, Michigan State, Navy, NC State, Oregon State, Texas Southern, UCLA, and Virginia Union.

THE LINEUP: The Air Force lineup this week at the GCAA/Folds of Honor is: 1. Isaac Layne; 2. Brooks Morrell; 3. Alvaro Fonseca; 4. Cameron Kahle; 5. Maxwell Heupel.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT: The Folds of Honor Foundation, American Dunes Golf Club, Michigan State University, and the Golf Coaches Association of America are partnering to host the Folds of Honor Collegiate, with proceeds benefiting the Folds of Honor and the GCAA Presidential Scholarship Fund.

ABOUT THE COURSE: American Dunes Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that is a tribute to the military and commemorates the birthplace of Folds of Honor. The facility, which is located a few hundred yards from the east shore of Lake Michigan, is a dunes-like course, utilizing the dramatic local topography and sand base that covers the property. The course is a par 72 that measures 7,213 yards and has rolling and generous fairways.

LAST WEEK:  Senior Isaac Layne led the Air Force golf team on the final day of the CSU Ram Masters, Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Fort Collins Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo.  Layne shot a two-over 72 in the final round of the par-70 course. Sophomore Cameron Kahle also bogeyed three of his first four holes and then parred the next 14 for a 73 (+3). Freshman Alvaro Fonseca posted three straight birdies on the back side as he finished at 75. Sophomore Christopher Park shot 76 and freshman Brooks Morrell shot 77.  Morrell was the top Falcon over the 54-hole tournament with a 221. Fonseca shot 227, Kahle 228, Layne 229 and Park 230. Sophomore Christopher Ehrenberger, competing as an individual, shot a three-round score of 232. Air Force shot a 296’s in the final round was the best round of the season. Air Force placed 15th as a team with a three-round score of 896. The host school, Colorado State, won the tournament with an 823 (-17). CSU Fullerton was second (834), Utah Valley was third (837) and Wyoming was fourth (845).
