Netflix released a blooper reel for Season 3 of its hit series The Umbrella Academy, proving that the Sparrows’ no-nonsense approach doesn’t extend to any of the show’s actors.

The lighthearted look behind the scenes was released as part of Netflix’s TUDUM event on Saturday, Sep. 24. Nearly six minutes long, the reel touches on scenes from throughout the season, showing the cast fumble and forget their lines, get stymied by props and burst into laughter with each other.

The Umbrella Academy, based on the comic series of the same name by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, debuted on Netflix in 2019 and has become one of the streamer’s core genre series. The show centers on a team of adopted siblings with varied superpowers, who have been trained since infancy by sour-tempered billionaire Reginald Hargreeves to be celebrity heroes. As adults, each member of the Umbrella Academy must overcome their interpersonal difficulties and work together when the fate of the world is at stake.

Season 2 premiered in July 2020 and saw the team stuck in the 1960s after some unplanned time travel, and in Season 3, released in June 2022, they returned to the present day only to find it changed. The latest season opened at #1 in Netflix’s English-language TV weekly rankings and spent five weeks in the Top 10.

The Season 3 finale of The Umbrella Academy saw the Hargreeves stepping into yet another timeline, in which they’re without powers and missing a few siblings. The final moments of the finale saw the siblings choose to break up the proverbial band and go their separate ways, but so far, no plot details have been revealed for Season 4. It is also unknown whether series regulars Adam Godley, Genesis Rodriguez and Britne Oldford will be back for the final season, as the Season 3 finale left their characters’ fates uncertain.

The first three seasons of The Umbrella Academy are currently available to stream on Netflix. The fourth and final season does not have a release date at this time.
