HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 7, 2022)  – The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s and women’s swimming team announced their 2022-23 competition schedule Friday.

The slate features a pair of meets inside the DeBaun Aquatic Center and culminates with the annual Middle Atlantic Conference Championship in early February.

The season unofficially began on Sept. 10 with the annual Meters for Mike open-water charity swim. The event is designed to advocate and raise funds for those living with brain trauma and to remember Michael Heaney, a former swimmer and alumnus of The College of New Jersey, who passed away in 2013 after a long struggle with his own traumatic brain injuries following an accident one year prior.

The Ducks officially enter the pool for the first time on Oct. 8 when the women’s squad travels to Kean for the first dual of the season in what will be the first meeting between the teams since 2003. The men’s season opener takes place in King’s Point, New York on Oct. 22, when the Ducks tangle with the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Stevens formerly took part in Merchant Marine’s annual meet, but the Saturday afternoon contest will be the first dual between the teams since 2010, when the teams swam to a 147-147 tie.

The Ducks will also take to the pool against Rowan on Nov. 11 in the first of two on-campus events. The Ducks will also host a split dual with NYU for the second straight year, with the opening day taking place in Hoboken on Jan. 13 and the final half of the event taking place in New York City one day later.

Back-to-back invitationals bookend the Rowan dual. First, the Ducks will head into New York for the annual NYU Fall Invitational on Nov. 5-6 and then the TCNJ Invitational (Dec. 2-4) closes out the fall semester.

The second half of the season kicks off with the split dual with NYU and is followed by a quad dual with York, Stevenson and Messiah in Grantham, Pennsylvania on Jan. 21, which leads the Ducks into the postseason.

York again serves as host institution of the conference championship, which kicks off on Feb. 9 at the Graham Aquatic Center. The men’s squad will be in search of their third straight MAC championship, which would extend the team’s overall streak of consecutive conference championships to 11, while the women will look to reclaim the conference crown after finishing second one year ago.

The NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships will be held Mar. 15-18 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
