Dalljiet Kaur, who was last seen in Guddan Tumse Na Ho Paayega, has been missing from the small screen as web shows and writing has kept her busy. The actress produced a couple of short films during the lockdown and is now gearing up for her OTT debut soon. She has already shot for a few web shows and they are slated to release soon. Dalljiet spoke to ETimes TV recently and opened up about her professional commitments, fitness and her son Jaydon.

So what has Dalljiet been busy with ?

I have been busy switching from TV to web shows. TV is a longer commitment than web shows and yes as much as I miss TV I am enjoying this new web show phase as well. I have been lucky to have been praised for my acting, so I have taken this huge plunge. It isn’t easy as a mother to make these switches because as much as creatively you want to do a lot, but then practicality of it remains that the money is what is needed. I am glad I have made this choice and taken the plunge.

We heard you are currently shooting for a web show. Please throw some light on it ?

I am not allowed to say much on it but I am in a very good space professionally. I have already shot a few which are due to release soon. As I speak I am in Bhopal shooting for a new web show.

You look absolutely stunning and fit. How do you manage it?

I think fitness has now become a way of life, its my lifestyle I do not eat carbs, no rotis and chawal I binge in between on a panipuri or so but a normal life of mine has no carbs I cannot workout as regularly but I’ve changed my entire lifestyle for the better. There are no shortcuts.

Tell us a little about your son Jaydon?

Jaydon is going to be 9 next month and to be honest to god it feels like he was born just yesterday. He has grown really tall now and to even pick him up is difficult now. It is overwhelming to see him becoming the man he is. I want to thank my family completely for helping me raise him the way I have. He has been taught the right culture and my parents have been particular in giving him the right upbringing. My parents are to be given the credit for this. Jaydon is a lovely, beautiful soul and I am a proud mother.

We have been through a lot together and to now be at this happy space makes me smile in gratitude.

What phase are you in personally and professionally ?

Personally, I am in an extremely happy space, nazar na lagey. I have been on the lookout for my MR right and am pretty sure I will have an announcement to make real soon. Professionally, I have been very fortunate to get good work and good reviews on the work I have done.

What next in terms of release for you?

The first project of mine will be out next month. I shall make the announcement soon. It is a beautiful journey of a girl. I have also shot a film and it was a different experience altogether. Currently shooting for a web show. A lot to watch out for. Soon.

We heard you have produced a few short films as well?

During the lockdown I began writing and I realised I wrote many stories and I got to making a few from the ones I wrote. I have a feeling fans are already waiting as most of these stories have their favourite stars, so as much as they are waiting to see them, so am I. But as a producer I am trying to make the films reach the audience and fans in the right way. Being a producer is tough but a satisfying one at that. It’s been learning on the go.

Is it difficult to make friends and keep the bond in this industry?

I have been around since 2004. I feel I know pretty much everyone but I have a close knit circle and they are the same friends who were there with me from the very beginning. It is difficult to maintain bonds in this industry because of the hectic schedules and I am a person who makes friends and make doubly sure those friends I am there for so am happy I’ve managed to make these friends and strengthen them over time
