WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ– The Manhattan Jaspers men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads competed against the Monmouth Hawks. Additionally, on Wednesday, the women’s team faced a further challenger at Felician University, all within the Richard E. Steadman Natatorium.

The final score for the men was 208-46 against the Hawks, whereas the women were defeated by Monmouth 212-37 and 161-76 by the Golden Falcons from Felician.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Men’s 200 Yard Medley Relay featured the group of junior Abelardo Cartagena, senior Joe Brennan, sophomore Gavin Harding, and junior Jonathan Carsen, who achieved a 1:39.60 finish, securing third place.
  • Brennan earned a first-place finish in the Men’s 100 Yard Breaststroke, outpacing Monmouth’s Victor Pottier Ibanez by .25 seconds. He posted a finals time of 59.05.
  • Junior Elle Feneide recorded a finals time of 2:21.26 in the Women’s 200 Yard Butterfly event.
  • Junior Shayna Millard clinched third place in the Women’s 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:17.14.
  • Sophomore Gavin Harding secured a third-place finish in the Men’s 100 Yard Butterfly, clocking a time of 53.64.

NEXT UP:

The Jaspers will return to the pool as the Manhattan Men and Women’s Swimming teams head south to Brooklyn to compete against the Wagner Seahawks and the LIU Sharks in a three-team event. The meet will be available for viewing on NEC Front Row.
