Tragic Truth Unveiled: Causes Behind the Fatal Fun Park Accident Involving Teen Employee

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) – Authorities are disclosing further details surrounding the passing of a 17-year-old worker related to go-karts at a recreation park in South Carolina.

Based on the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the worker has been identified as 17-year-old Kamel Seveion Sewell.

Investigators reported that Sewell met his demise in a crash involving a forklift and a go-kart at Frankie’s Fun Park on Friday.

Officials stated that Sewell was operating the go-kart when it struck an industrial forklift, which was also being maneuvered by a park employee.

The coroner revealed that Sewell’s cause of death was due to blunt force trauma to the head, and the manner of death has been deemed accidental.

Frankie’s Fun Park issued the following statement concerning the fatality:

Sewell was a junior at Fountain Inn High School.

Greenville County schools expressed their sympathies to Sewell’s family and the entire educational community.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) of South Carolina is looking into the incident.
