GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The mother and sister of a young boy who tragically lost his life in an accident at a fun park in Greenville are voicing their grief.
On December 27, Kamel Seveion Sewell, 17, was operating a go-kart when it crashed into an industrial forklift. Sewell was an employee at the park.

Later, the coroner’s office confirmed that Sewell’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. His death has been classified as accidental.
Sewell was a junior at Fountain Inn High School.
During a press conference on January 2, Sewell’s mother, Deldress Sewell, along with his oldest sister, Shamirra Thomas, shared memories of Seveion.
Deldress mentioned that Seveion thoroughly enjoyed his job at Frankie’s. He worked there and at Whataburger to save money for a car. Sewell’s mother shared that he wasn’t even permitted to drive his new car around the block due to lacking tags.
Deldress recounted that she was at the DMV acquiring the tags for Seveion’s new vehicle when she received the tragic news.
“This shouldn’t have happened to my child,” expressed his mother.
Sewell’s eldest sister shared that both she and her mother had just received a text from Seveion at midnight on December 25, wishing them a Merry Christmas.
“We’re going to carry this pain for the rest of our lives,” stated Thomas.
