Sneak Peek: The MSI GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming Trio “Blackwell” Box Unveiled!

Here are some of the initial images of the MSI GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming Trio “Blackwell” graphics card. The packaging artwork delivers the first glimpse of what the actual item will resemble. It remains over two slots thick and is quite lengthy, featuring a trio of what seem to be 100 mm fans. As with all previous Gaming X series graphics cards from MSI, this item will showcase extensive RGB LED illumination, along with a quite substantial factory overclock among its base and premium levels (Gaming and Gaming X); however, historically, MSI’s Suprim line has had the highest factory tuning from the company.

The reverse side of the packaging enumerates MSI-specific and NVIDIA “Blackwell” unique attributes. The RTX 50-series will witness MSI introduce the new StormForce fan, which seems to possess greater impeller depth than the earlier TorX 3.0 fan. The impellers are webbed for axial airflow, and the fan blades feature ridges. Furthermore, the packaging states that the cooler comes with a nickel-plated copper base-plate, which contacts the GPU and likely possesses a mirror finish. This baseplate will be supported by Core Pipes, which are the cooler’s copper heatpipes shaped squarely near the baseplate for enhanced contact. Lastly, the card includes a metal backplate—no surprises there. NVIDIA plans to launch the GeForce RTX 5080 on January 21.
