Unveiling Tomorrow: The Must-See Gaming and AI Monitors of CES 2025!

If you are keen on the latest in gaming, displays, or gaming monitors, you are likely keeping an eye on the announcements we will witness at CES, the country’s largest showcase of gadgets.

Each January, we are treated to a wide range of stylish, occasionally transparent, sometimes curved, and always innovative gaming monitors. This year, we are particularly excited about several futuristic gaming monitors from LG and Samsung — and more previews are expected to emerge shortly.

LG’s flexible gaming displays

LG Electronics is prepared to unveil its new UltraGear GX9 series at CES 2025, featuring a collection that includes two 45-inch 21:9 gaming monitors, the 45GX990A and 45GX950A, offering ultra-high 5K2K resolution for an immersive gaming experience. With these monitors, we can anticipate greater screen space and improved compatibility — along with customizable settings through Dual-Mode, enabling users to modify aspect ratios and image sizes. Moreover, they are curved, which LG claims can alleviate eye fatigue and enhance gaming comfort.

The new UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor is the first of its kind to feature a flexible 5K2K-resolution OLED display. LG asserts that it can transition from a flat surface to a 900R curvature in a matter of seconds. YS Lee, the Vice President and head of LG Media Entertainment’s IT Business Unit, stated in a press release prior to CES 2025 that “the GX9 series extends the limits to deliver maximum value and pleasure for our customers.”

Samsung ventures into AI and OLED gaming

Samsung has introduced its new Odyssey OLED G81SF and Odyssey OLED G60SF monitors, both measuring 27 inches and featuring 4K resolution. The Odyssey OLED G81SF boasts a peak refresh rate of 240Hz, an astonishing response time of 0.03ms, and a glare-free display. As stated by Samsung, “The Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF model) is the world’s first 27” 4K (3,840 x 2,160) OLED gaming monitor.”

In comparison, the Odyssey OLED G60SF is touted as the “first-ever OLED display with a refresh rate of 500Hz,” according to Samsung. The company is also set to present the Odyssey 3D G90XF gaming monitor at CES, which offers a customizable 3D experience without the need for 3D glasses.

While the Smart Monitor M90SF is not specifically designed for gaming, it includes groundbreaking on-device AI features that “analyzes input signals to identify the type of content being viewed… and automatically adjusts display settings for optimal visual experience.” For gamers, it will allow for fine-tuning of picture settings to enhance the immersive experience — but it’s also promoted as a fantastic tool for video and productivity.
