NORMAN, Okla. — The No. 5 Texas women’s basketball squad triumphed in their inaugural Southeastern Conference match in program history with an 80-73 victory at Oklahoma on Thursday. 

Jordan Lee came off the bench to top Texas with 17 points shooting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Rori Harmon added 16 points and distributed eight assists. Taylor Jones accounted for eight of her 14 points in the final quarter and Kyla Oldacre contributed 12 points for Texas. 

Oklahoma initiated a couple of 6-0 spurts in the first quarter, leading 32-20 with 8:38 remaining in the second quarter. 

Jordan Lee began to shine for Texas in the second quarter, netting 3-of-4 from long range, energizing the Longhorns. Her third 3-pointer ignited a 7-0 run for Texas, allowing them to rally and take a 40-39 advantage at halftime. 

Kyla Oldacre asserted herself with six points in the second quarter for Texas. 

With the contest tied at 54-54 in the third quarter, Lee intercepted the ball and raced down the court for a layup and drew a foul. Taylor Jones played a significant role with eight points in the fourth quarter for the Longhorns. 

Next, Texas will continue SEC competition as they face Arkansas on Sunday, Jan. 5 with a 2:00 p.m. CT start on SECN+.
