CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton will not join the team in Pittsburgh prior to Saturday’s critical game against the Steelers.

The rookie receiver will sit out the contest. The decision was indicated by head coach Zac Taylor, as stated in an announcement from the team.

This is not the initial instance that Burton has been sidelined due to a decision from the coach. He did not participate against the Raiders in November because he was a “no call, no show” for a Saturday walkthrough.

It remains uncertain what transpired this time around, but a lackluster rookie season may be concluding.

Burton wraps up his inaugural season with four receptions totaling 107 yards over the course of 14 games.

The Bengals selected Burton in the third round (80th overall) during the 2024 NFL Draft.
