“Katie Holmes’ Travel Secret: The Perfect Pair of White Sneakers!”

It’s astounding that we’re already a few days into 2025 (is anyone else still in disbelief?). The festive season zipped by, as it always does, implying that traveling has diminished—for the moment. I’ve set multiple aims to voyage more this year, which means I’ll be a regular traveler before long, but presently, I’m content to remain in one place. This is because I spent a substantial portion of my holidays on a flight, leading me to my preferred AirEssentials set (of course!) complemented by those reliable shoes Katie Holmes was recently photographed in. It seems like they are a winning pair of footwear 30,000 feet in the air as well as on solid ground. 

Holmes strolled through New York City, as is her habit, clutching two venti Starbucks beverages, further validating the old saying that celebrities are just like us! Right? Perhaps a tad. I, similarly to Holmes, was certainly indulging in Starbucks’ holiday beverages, and I, akin to the actress, spent the last few weeks in my reliable white sneakers. In fact, I wore essentially all of 2024 in crisp white sneakers. But before we delve into those, let’s discuss Holmes’s entire ensemble. 

7 White Sneakers Ideal for Travel

Holmes opted for her typical approach, which is equal parts stylish and comfortable. She wore loose, wide-leg jeans that are expected to be trendy through 2025 (so don’t grow tired of them just yet). She completed her laid-back coffee-fetching outfit with a blue-and-white striped shirt, a brown corduroy jacket, a beanie, sunglasses, and a large leather tote. The final touch? Those white court sneakers that reminded me they are the trendiest, most comfortable choice to match with anything—even baggy jeans. Not only that, but I also feel compelled to express my admiration for them because they transformed my travel experience over the last year. 

White sneakers are essential for a multitude of reasons, but most importantly, they complement virtually everything. You can wear them with your travel outfit and keep them on when transitioning to something more formal after deplaning. They’re also exceptionally comfortable, and when you’re darting from gate to gate at the airport, the last thing you desire is foot soreness. Lastly, if you lack PreCheck like me, those white trainers remain relatively easy to slip on and off. 

I take my reliable white sneakers everywhere, and I intend to keep doing so in the upcoming year. After all, they never go out of fashion; they consistently appear stylish; and my feet are grateful after over 10,000 steps in them. Below, discover some styles I’m currently considering.
