The tech giant has partnered with the delivery service Instacart to enable the fridge to do your shopping.

Samsung claims that it can use embedded cameras and AI to identify the food residing in your fridge.

Instacart can then correlate these foods with its own inventory and add them to your cart.

If you approve of the restock, you can confirm it and have it delivered on the same day.

“We’ve all envisioned a refrigerator that could replenish itself,” stated Daniel Danker, Instacart’s product chief.

“Now, thanks to this collaboration with Samsung, that dream is no longer the realm of science fiction.”

Daniel further noted: “Owners of Samsung Bespoke refrigerators will have the ability to place grocery orders and easily replenish empty fridge spaces via same-day delivery through Instacart from their favorite local grocery suppliers.”

This significant upgrade will initially be available on Samsung’s 2025 series of Bespoke refrigerator models.

Eventually, it will also be rolled out to existing Samsung AI Family Hub refrigerators.

This will be delivered as an over-the-air update at some point “during 2025”, Samsung states.

The downside is that this feature is currently only available in the US, as Instacart is not accessible in the UK.
