photographers throughout Dorset have been presenting their amazing shots of the crescent moon alongside Venus.
On Friday night, star enthusiasts were able to observe the second planet from the sun with the unaided eye.
Venus is frequently referred to as the ‘Evening Star’ or the ‘Morning Star’ since, when it shines prominently, it seems to be the most luminous ‘star’ in the night sky.
This splendid and clear photograph was taken by Sheila Hunn in Weymouth.
The astronomical phenomenon was also photographed by Shirley Legg in Langton Herring.
Janet Trendle also witnessed this unusual occurrence in Lytchett Minster.
Peter Harriman snapped this close-up of the moon over Dorset.
Several astronomical events are set to take place in January, and on January 16, there’s a significant likelihood that people will catch sight of Mars as the red planet will be in ‘opposition,’ meaning Earth will sit directly between it and the sun.
Furthermore, on January 21, astronomy enthusiasts could possibly observe five planets – Saturn, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars – in the heavens after 9pm, according to the Royal Observatory Greenwich.
