Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH) along with Wilson County Schools are joining forces to launch an annual art contest for young individuals. Each iteration will highlight a distinct theme, with this year concentrating on monochrome photography. The subject is “What Healthcare Represents to Me.” The winning submissions will become the possession of the hospital, where they will be exhibited.

This contest is open to students enrolled in Wilson County Schools, with rewards for first, second, and third place in the form of gift cards valued at $250, $150, and $75, respectively. The art instructor of the student who secures first place will be sponsored to participate in the Tennessee Arts Academy Conference set to take place from July 13 to 18, 2025, at Middle Tennessee State University located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Instructors of all winning entries will be acknowledged alongside their students.

Photos submitted must be in .jpg format and have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi/ppi or 40 MB. Each person may enter only one photo. In compliance with HIPAA regulations, no hospital patients should appear in any submitted images. Entries can be submitted here: https://redcap.vumc.org/surveys/?s=FYMC4LWJ4DT4JRPC.

The judging panel will consist of members from the VWCH administrative team as well as the Patient and Family Advisory Council.

The entry deadline is January 17, 2025. Winners will be informed by February 21 through their respective schools, with a reveal ceremony scheduled on March 28 at VWCH, where the three award-winning photographs will be showcased. A digital exhibition of the images will be shared across Vanderbilt’s social media channels.

VWCH provides extensive quality services to the community, including the delivery of over 610 babies and conducting more than 4,400 surgical procedures annually. As part of Vanderbilt Health, the hospital is well-equipped to address a wide range of needs, from routine health issues to the most intricate medical conditions.

Fully accredited by both the State of Tennessee and the Joint Commission, the hospital has garnered national quality accolades, including its designation as an accredited chest pain center, a stroke center, and a comprehensive weight loss center.

This facility is the first and only Level III Trauma Center in Wilson County. Anyone in need of emergency assistance will find a devoted team of emergency medicine physicians, trauma-trained surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses prepared around the clock, every day throughout the year to deliver prompt care.

Vanderbilt Health also offers an extensive array of outpatient primary and specialized healthcare services in Wilson County.
