DENVER, Colo. — Freshman Jahzara Ranger clinched the beam title with a score of 9.900 as the No. 13 University of Michigan women’s gymnastics squad was defeated by No. 12 Denver, with a score of 195.700-194.975, on Sunday (January 5) evening at Magness Arena, marking the start of the season.

Peyton Davis, Sophia Diaz, Sophie Parenti, and Ranger initiated their collegiate journeys against the Pioneers. Ranger showcased her versatility as an all-around competitor and captured the beam title, while Diaz and Parenti participated in two events each, and Davis took part in the vault event.

Ranger secured U-M’s sole event title of the day with a score of 9.900 on the beam, rounding off her performance with scores of 9.800 on both the vault and floor.
